Responsibilities:
Provide excellent patient care and service to our patients, greeting them and checking them in, taking payments, and other front desk responsibilities.
Schedule ophthalmic surgeries for the ambulatory surgery center including verifying authorizations, setting appointments for pre-surgery testing, scheduling post-op appointments, confirming all IOLs, etc.
are ordered for surgery, checking health issues, meds for possible needed pre-authorization, and verifying that equipment required for surgery is available at external locations.
Coordinate, complete, and verify all required surgery paperwork according to established procedures.
Communicate thoroughly with patients regarding pre-op requirements.
Facilitate patient surgery day including completing any outstanding paperwork with the patient, completing charts for surgery staff, completing charts after surgery, and faxing follow-ups to Optometrists.
Requirements:
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office or G-Suite
Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology
Effectively work in a team environment.
Demonstrated multitasking and adaptability
Strong interpersonal skills
Comfortable with communication via phone, internet, and in-person
Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong organization and attention to detail
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Two years of Ophthalmology or medical clinic experience in surgery scheduling or patient services is preferred
