Inventech Marine Solutions (IMS) designs and builds aluminum boats for a variety of users around the world.
We are continuing to expand and have an immediate opening for a *Project Engineer* to join our team.
Ideal candidates must be driven for success, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and have excellent knowledge of building quality aluminum boats.
Candidate should be versed in Microsoft office products.
Marine experience is required.
This full-time year-round position offers a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, vacation, seven paid holidays, and profit bonuses.

We design and manufacture boats from 17FT all the way up to 55FT, each built to order.

Qualified candidates must have marine industry experience and previously held a project management position in the boat-building industry.
This position is directly responsible for managing the manufacturing process of vessels from point of sale through delivery.
This position is also responsible for coordinating with other company departments to balance company objectives while maintaining a positive, respectful productive team atmosphere.
WHAT YOU WILL DO · Define the scope of work, owners/IMS requirements and project goals · Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support · Prepare timelines of key construction milestones · Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications · Identify resources required to achieve milestones.
· Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions · Track and report project progress · Plan and manage resources.
· Manage changes to vessel designs and its effect on timeline and budget.
· Ensure project goals are met.
· Test, inspect, and document the vessel once complete.
MUST HAVES · 1+ years of experience in Aluminum Boat Building · 2+ years of scheduling experience · 2+ years of manufacturing environment · 2+ years of engineering experience · Leadership skills · Strong Lean Manufacturing knowledge and experience with continuous improvement · Strong understanding of industry-standard equipment and installation details · Excellent communication skills and ability to motivate a team · Proven ability to manage priorities and efficiently solve problems · Ability to read blueprints and engineering fabrication drawings · Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) · Knowledgeable in tracking production hours and accurately building production schedules.
· Ensure regular production, quality, and safety targets are met · Track production manhours and build schedules · Liaise with customers, suppliers, other departments including engineering to ensure requirements are met · Strive for extremely high quality, get it right the first-time principles · Communicate engineering problems in a timely and efficient manner · Develop, maintain, and oversee quality accountability systems HOW YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL * *Communication: *You must have good written and verbal communication with the ability to translate technical information in a non-technical format.
