Job Title: Human Resources Generalist 2
Department: Human Resources
Location: Mushroom Harvest, 527 Spring Rd, Port Angeles, WA, 98362
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00 am - 4:30 pm on-site
Summary: The Human Resources Generalist 2 supports both the Director of Human Resources and Safety Manager in a wide range of responsibilities at our Sequim, WA site.
This role will balance human resources and safety functions and be responsible for successfully onboarding new employees, maintaining attendance records, navigating employee relations issues and investigations, managing the on-site safety function, and serving as a resource for questions on safety and HR-related topics.
This role integrates elements of the Herb Pharm culture in all materials and interactions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: include the following, other duties that may be assigned: Onboard employees in tune with HP culture and ensure compliance with federal and state law and company standards Provide support to people leaders and employees in various HR-related topics, working in concert towards solutions Conduct employee investigations and manage employee coaching and discipline in cooperation with department leadership and the Director of HR Audit new hire data entry to ensure correct and complete records Scan employee files and other documents into the electronic filing system Track employee attendance, update points records in the HRIS, and send attendance reports to managers Manage the coordination of employee engagement activities and special events Conduct exit interviews Support the Director of HR with budget creation and management for the business unit Support the Director of HR with special projects Provide general administrative support, be a resource for visitors Monitor office supplies and coordinate with the procurement team for ordering Ensure compliance with state and federal OSHA regulations and company best practices Gather information and report on safety incidents Intervene in the case of unsafe activities or operations being carried out by employees within the workplace Support the Safety Manager with the creation and enforcement of safety policies and procedures Carry out research with regard to regulatory requirements and safety best practices Support the process of accident investigation/analysis Keep records of safety-related incidents and recommend corrective measures Work hand-in-hand with company management to identify safety-related issues and supervise adherence to safety rules Organize safety training for staff as needed Work with vendors to ensure safe practices while on company premises Assist with evaluations of safety policies, methods, and programs.

) At least two years’ safety experience, or safety certification (ASP, CSP, SMS, STS, LSP, etc.
) Technical Requirements: Thorough knowledge of Office 365 Experience with HRIS systems Qualifications & Requirements: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong empathy and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills General understanding of labor law and employment equity regulations Knowledge of HR functions and best practices Thorough knowledge of federal and Washington employment laws Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills Ability to maintain confidentiality Flexible and able to switch gears as needed Able to prioritize, organize, and work efficiently with little supervision Assist with efficient team operation and continuous process improvement, by participating actively in all team and departmental meetings as requested.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to quickly organize and communicate thoughts, and to understand communications from others.
Strong ability to maintain composure, listen, and respond appropriately.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business and employment law information.
Ability to articulate and present ideas and solutions to employees, people leaders, and executive management.
Strong attention to detail with solid knowledge of grammar and punctuation and the ability to proofread accurately and consistently.
