*JOB ANNOUNCEMENT*
*The Port of Poulsbo is currently accepting resumes for a full-time, Maintenance Supervisor position – with benefits.
* The Maintenance Supervisor will be familiar with all areas of maintenance within the Port of Poulsbo and shall have at least three (3) years of experience at the Maintenance Staff level or equivalent.
This individual shall demonstrate proficiency and safety in the maintenance, repair, rework, and refurbishment of all areas of maintenance at the Port and shall require no immediate supervision to accomplish any necessary task or repair not contracted out.
The FMC shall identify problem areas within the Port and suggest ways to improve existing infrastructure to the Port Manager.
The Maintenance Supervisor shall also provide written plans, procedures, and materials lists as required by the Port Manager.
In addition to accomplishing maintenance and repairs, the Maintenance Supervisor shall provide direct supervision of, assistance to, and training of less experienced or less qualified maintenance staff, including tasking of said staff.
A neat, clean appearance and a pleasant attitude are required at all times.
This position requires cooperation with the Permanent Moorage Coordinator, the Guest Services Coordinator, and other staff as appropriate.
This position requires an individual to be a team player, to work without direct supervision, be organized and skilled in time-management, and willing to perform multiple shared tasks.
This position requires effective communication skills as the individual will be dealing with other staff members, licensees, visiting boaters, and occasionally the general public.
This position is under the direct supervision of the Port Manager and requires a weekly written status report to be submitted to the Port Manager for use in bi-monthly reporting to the Port of Poulsbo Commissioners.
*REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE* • High School equivalency • Current Washington State Driver’s license • Have basic computer skills including, but not limited to, the use of Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Word *PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS* • Ability to frequently lift heavy material up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, crouch, kneel for various durations, safely climb a ladder, and work out-of-doors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to safely enter, exit, and operate work vessels on the water in adverse conditions.
• Ability to safely utilize a large array of tools and power equipment necessary to accomplish various tasks.
*REQUIRED AFTER-HIRE JOB TRAINING AND SKILLS*• • Maintain current First Aid & CPR • 24-hour HAZWOPER training, 8-hour HAZWOPER training annually • Be proficient with all procedures required for fuel deliveries.
• Be familiar with, and in compliance with, the Port’s Fuel Dock Procedures and Guidelines.
\* • Be familiar with, and be capable of fulfilling the requirements and duties listed in the “Fuel Float Checklist” on a daily basis\* • Be familiar with and know the execution of the Port’s Emergency Response Plan, and the Emergency Response Team contact list.
\* • Be familiar with the Emergency Contact Priority List.
\* • Be proficient with the deployment of fuel spill containment materials, absorbent boom, and absorbent pad material\* • Be familiar with, and in compliance with, the Port’s Accident Prevention Program.
\* • This position will be required to join the CENCOM emergency response call list.
\* Must be demonstrable on-demand or on a minimum of an annual basis.
*DUTIES & OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES* • Repairing, maintaining, and upgrading the entirety of the Port infrastructure • Develop ongoing daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly maintenance, project, and task records as directed by the Port Manager • Supervise during and be proficient with all procedures required for fuel deliveries, ensuring all valves and procedures are clearly labeled and posted.
• Cleaning of the restroom, and laundry facilities, including routine maintenance inspections • Landscaping and beautification of all Port facilities • Dispensing fuel, selling motor oil and fuel additive products, and maintaining accurate fuel dock receipts when guest services staff is unavailable.
• Monitor, cite and arrange the towing of unauthorized vehicles in Port parking areas • Perform Vessel Maintenance and Safety Checks following schedule provided by the Permanent Moorage Coordinator • Respond to fuel spills, safety-related vessel issues, and other emergencies • Other tasks as assigned by the Port Manager *SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES* • Ensuring all maintenance staff are trained and follow all safety precautions and procedures.
• Provide purchase order requests to Port Manager or as directed by the Port Manager.
• Set work schedule for maintenance staff, approve timesheets/payroll and turn into Accounting dept.
• Provide training when needed to all staff on Fuel Dock Operations.
• Provide assistance and training for maintenance operations as needed to maintenance staff.
• Prepare annual performance evaluations for all staff under direct supervision.
• Provide written weekly report to Port Manager of all tasks/operations performed and pending/ongoing tasks or recommendations which will be included in the Port Manager’s report to the Commission.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid WA State driver’s license and be capable of performing the duties listed above.
