Port Angeles Wharf is a privately owned building on the Port Angeles waterfront, with 23 restaurant/food, retail and office tenants.
The principal owner of the Wharf owns and operates three of the businesses that are tenants within The Wharf – arcade, art gallery and seasonal fish restaurant.
The BUSINESS MANAGER will oversee those 4 businesses: Wharf real estate, The Arcade, One of a Kind Art Gallery, and Fish & Crab Shack.
Each of those 4 businesses has its own Manager, who will report to the Business Manager.
The Business Manager will report to the Owner (Erik Marks).
This is a multifaceted, busy and interesting job, with significant opportunities for developing skills, knowledge and growth in small business operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coach and mentor the manager of each of the 4 businesses
• Together with each manager, establish systems and processes for operations
• Together with each manager, oversee HR, insurance, financial reconciliation and other administrative tasks (bookkeeping is handled by an outside firm)
• Together with each manager, create and implement business plans and budgets.
• Together with each manager, create and implement marketing plans
• Monitor legal and regulatory compliance
• Report to, and collaborate with, Owner
REQUIREMENTS:
• College degree and sharp intelligence
• Minimum 5 years experience in the small or mid-size business environment
• General computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
• Commitment to continuous improvement of operations, and desire to represent The Wharf well in the Port Angeles community.
This is a Monday-Friday job with occasional weekend work.
Salary: $70k - $90k per year DOE.
PTO accrues at 200% of base rate.
