JD 650 made by Yanmar, has two-cylinder diesel engine, model 67 front loader, power steering (very helpful with a loader), 4-speed with hi/lo transmission (8 fwd speeds, 2 rev), PTO, and 3-point hitch.
Everything works.
I bought the tractor in non-running condition so I had no idea what might have issues.
Come to find out, the clutch didn't work and with the tractor split to replace the clutch, I ended up putting in new engine main & rod bearings and rings (std size on all, as there was no wear to speak of), new engine gaskets, valves lapped, cylinders honed, new clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing, tach drive cable, and u-joints for front driveshaft.
Replaced all fluids and filters.
I also put on updated lighting.
Another issue I initially found was the front driveshaft yoke was broken.
I did a search online but couldn't find one.
I ended up repairing the broken one.
I welded a stub onto the shaft and cut new splines on my mill.
There are a few photos of the repaired shaft.
The tractor has about 4,900 hours on it.
