My beautiful curley feathered Sebastopol geese are now laying, and I have eggs for hatching, as well as a few breeding pairs.
I should have hatchlings in early May as well.
These geese have naturally curley feathers so they don’t fly.
They are compact easy keepers that do a super job keeping your fields trimmed and fertilized.
They need a body of water, even a large kiddy pool, to remain healthy.
They do best in numbers and are very self-preserving in a group.
Mine are used to sheep, horses, dogs, deer, chickens, ducks, alpacas, llamas, cats and various birds of prey, and can defend themselves as needed.
They are very hardy, don’t particularly use shelter unless setting eggs, and don’t mind lousy weather.
Eggs are $50 a dozen; pairs run $75 and up; babies (by preorder please) are $25 each.
These birds are tame, hand raised, silly, and a ton of fun.
If you have a pond, you want some of these!
