About these plants: Comfrey is an incredibly useful plant in the garden and landscape.
It is a ‘dynamic accumulator’ meaning it has a long taproot that shoots down into the earth that mines for nutrients in the soil and brings those back into its leaves.
The leaves can then be cut and used for natural fertilizer, in compost, in a garden tea, for chicken feed, and as a poultice medicinally.
Each plant grows to be about 3-4’ It is common in permaculture.
The easiest way to propagate is with root cuttings.
Take each root cutting and plant in soil immediately.
Keep watered until established.
One very important thing to note about comfrey - its root can go as deep as 12’ below the soils surface.
Once planted the only way to truly remove it is with machinery.
So once it’s in, it’s in and cannot be removed.
Choose your location wisely.
Egyptian walking onions (also known as Tree onions).
Are perennial onions that taste similar to both green onions and shallot.
All parts of the plant can be eaten, including the lower bulb as well as new green shoots.
They are called walking onions because they propagate by growing small bulbs at the top of each plant that fall over, making the plant “walk”.
They are incredibly hardy and if kept insulated with mulch should last for many many years.
Plants come in 4” pots.
For bigger sizes or small bulbs, please inquire as I have many
