Rehoming our entire flock of Salmon Faverolles.
I counted 10 hens, plus the rooster makes 11.
The hens are just shy of 9 months old, and the rooster is about a month older.
I got the rooster from a different farm a few hours away, so he's not related to the girls.
They lay medium brown eggs and have only been laying since Jan/Feb, so they have a lot of laying potential.
$200 or best offer.
I can meet at Tractor Supply in Silverdale or Wilco in east Bremerton.
I have so many chickens that I'm getting too many eggs, so I just want to downsize.
The Faverolles have always been an insular group since they were chicks, never wanting to mix with other breeds, so they'll be happy to go together.
They also are not well suited to the muddy environment my ducks have created.
Because of all the rain we've been getting, they no longer have a dry dust bath area.
If you can provide a dry dust bath, their feathers will improve.
They have always been flighty and not super friendly, but they love treats and follow me everywhere in case I have something.
I understand if you cannot have a rooster, but I'd like to prioritize someone who can take the rooster because the hens are bonded to him and he has no place here without them.
He is a really great guy who has never shown a hint of aggression toward anyone, including small children.
The rooster is recovering from scaly leg mites.
I believe he had a minor case when I got him, and I didn't realize until it was severe.
I coated his legs with Vaseline and treated him twice with [message me for the details].
I don't see any evidence that any other chickens have it, though I haven't been able to examine every hen closely.
I was thinking of treating all the hens in the same way as a precaution against any type of mites they may have.
If you would like that to happen, I can treat them the day they leave and give you it [message for the details] to treat them yourself 14 days later so you don't have to buy a whole bottle.
It's easy, just requires a few drops on the skin at the back of the neck for each chicken.
Many people recommend an egg withdrawal period, as the medication will be included in their eggs afterward.
This medication is safe for humans, and we have always eaten the eggs with no issues.
Please do your own research! And make sure it is safe for you personally (with any meds you're
taking, etc).
If you are following the egg withdrawal, it will be 8 to 10 weeks total after getting the hens.
