Responsibilities
Job Summary:
This job is responsible for transporting patients and equipment between departments/locations.
Provides basic aspects of patient care patient mobility and maintenance of equipment under the direction of a Registered Nurse in a defined care team.
Contributes to the delivery of patient focused care.
Essential Duties:
Assists with cleaning of equipment and maintenance of department; may exchange oxygen tanks and/or attach IV’s to wheelchairs or gurneys as necessary.
Escorts patients at the time of discharge from their room to personal transportation.
Maintains a safe work and patient environment adhering to the hospital’s Safety Risk Management Regulatory Standards and infection prevention.
Provide Client and Patient Relations.
Performs basic life support gives assistance to medical staff during emergencies and may respond to hospital codes.
Performs basic patient care activities based on skill ability and limitations of scope of practice as directed by management and/or nursing staff.
Transports patients to and from nursing units and ancillary departments in a manner conducive to patient safety and comfort including special needs.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
One year recent work-related work experience preferably in a hospital setting preferred.
License/Certification:
Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.
This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
Pay Range
$18.
01 - $24.
