I am selling my 1992 Mitsubishi Delica JB500 aka the Slug Bus, the Slug wagon, or my favorite, Ol’ Sluggo.
It’s RHD, 4x4, 5 speed manual, and a turbo diesel.
All the coolest of the cool in one neat little package.
The truck:
It’s got a swapped D4BF engine.
The old engine was a naturally aspirated 4D56 that was very tired.
Being that the new engine is turboed, it makes way more power, gets better mpg’s (17-20), and just sounds way cooler.
The new engine has about 6,000 miles on it.
It will be going up as this is my daily driver.
2.
25” full exhaust.
Front axle rebuilt.
4x4 works flawlessly
All the shocks have been replaced.
Rear leaf springs were rearched and I had two extra leafs added to the packs.
All the shackle bushings were replaced with polyurethanes from Siberian bushings.
Front sway bar bushings were replaced with siberians as well.
All the fluids have been changed on a proper maintenance schedule.
Anything that needs greased has been greased.
I can provide a full maintenance schedule upon request.
The camper:
Take a step back to the 90’s in the Slug.
It has a full galley, a nice little bathroom with a cassette toilet, shower, dual pane RV windows with screens and shades, seating for 4 at the nice table, and it even has a Mitsubishi split unit.
You can have heat, A/C, or a dehumidifier wherever you go.
It does have solar.
I do not have it hooked up right now.
I’ve been in the midst of trying to swap out old batteries for new.
I do have a Dakota lithium battery I was planning on putting in.
For additional costs, I will throw that and new solar components in.
It definitely needs some work, but as far as drivability and being a turn-key operation, this thing will take you to the end of the world at a slug’s pace.
I love it.
I hate to part with it, but it’s tough trying to live out of a project.
It’s time for me to pass it on to someone new.
I have a little video tour of the interior.
$36,500 OBO.
Open to reasonable offers.
