Hello all, I had a plan to build a nice 12 valve and put it in a nice truck body.
Well, as all plans go, things fell through and life situations changed and I have to forego the build.
What I have:
1996 long block with mic'ed bores, crank journals, pistons, rods, cam, and lifters, all well within tolerance on 200k used engine.
(previous owner was excellent about oil changes)
Installed new bearings on crank and cam
new tappets
new Mahle piston rings
new fly cut rocker pedestals
brand spanking new head w/ 60lb springs installed
good used head (magnafluxed crack-free) included
220k lb tensile head studs
Fresh rebuild P-pump (841)
191 delivery valves
5x14 injector tips replacement w/shims
Holset HX35 stock turbo (good condition)
transmission mount, automatic flex plate and torque converter (all good)
Paint free valve covers (plain aluminum I was going to polish them shiny.
.
.
.
but things changed)
I do not have a starter
The head is on and torqued to tolerance and the crank end play checked good.
I have a full brand new Cummins upper and lower gasket kit
Brand new bolts and hoses and spares to go with it.
I have over $7,000 into it so far but I'm sure that I would be hard pressed to get it back out of it since it isn't completed and test run.
I have a Youtube video of the engine build to date (if interested I can link)
Anyone interested, drop me a note.
