Designed and engineered as a direct replacement for the OE shifter in 356 T6B and 356C chassis that use the lever controlled heater cables.
It can also be used in the T5B chassis if the knob controlled heater cables are updated to the lever.
In keeping with all WEVO Shifter products, this 356 unit has been developed to offer a combination of precision and shorter lever travel.
Also in common with all WEVO Shifters, the 356 shifter uses a spring centering system to define the lateral gates of the shift pattern.
The "dislocation action" that is incorporated into the original shifter to engage reverse gear has been eliminated and replaced by a smooth, but heavy spring pressure.
The lateral action to the 3rd and 4th plane is managed by a gentle spring action that returns the lever to the 1st and 2nd plane when released in neutral.
The reduction in shift lever travel is approximately 35% and immediately feels precise and natural given the confines of the cozy 356 cabin.
The shift knob is positioned in the original location in neutral.
The lever is gleaming lustrous chrome, "triple plated" in, copper, nickel and chrome to offer the highest durability.
The lever is capped by the same thread as the OE shift lever and will accept the stock 356 knob.
The rubber shifter boot, is the OE unit used on the 356 B & C and contributes much to the stock look of this upgrade.
The architecture of the base casting has been styled to mimic the OE shifter and as a result avoids immediate detection and maintains the original look of your Porsche classic.
