French second Empire brass fireman helmet - $595 (Bremerton)

Estate Find : Dating to circa 1860's, this is NOT a reproduction but a genuine French second Empire brass fireman helmet, in untouched condition.
As you can see, it is missing its chin strap , badge , etc.
The (later) red feather plume is for ceremonial use and denotes rank.
As you can see from the photos it shows dents here and there from active service but no perishing of the brass surface.
Antique Nickeled Brass/ Copper French Fireman Helmet peened Gilt on crown Came with a story [ Fact or Fiction - Real or Imagined !] estate host [ owner] stated this was a prop used in a movie .
